Fed: Mack Trucks/Comtech/Crisp-air win defence contracts
CANBERRA, Dec 30 AAP - Three companies will share in almost $40 million worth of contracts
servicing army heavy vehicles.
Defence Minister Robert Hill said Mack Trucks Australia had won a $35 million contract
to replace the recovery systems and address occupational health and safety concerns on
64 vehicles.
Senator Hill said Mack Trucks would fit an off-the-shelf system that would comply with
health and safety requirements for the next 10 to 15 years.
Comtech Automotive Industries and Crisp-Air will share $4.5 million in contracts for
the purchase of noise reduction kits.
"The noise reduction contract will see the installation of insulation materials and
air-conditioners," Senator Hill said today.
"These will reduce the noise levels in the vehicle cabins significantly, which will
improve the conditions for the vehicle crews."
