Fed: Insurance policyholders must learn to navigate system: ACA
A peak consumer body says health insurance policy holders must learn to navigate thejungle of ever changing health insurance products to keep them from being ripped off.
The Australian Consumers' Association says there are 44 health insurance funds, butthat could drop dramatically over the next few years as funds merge to cut costs.
But ACA spokesman MARTYN GODDARD says while merging products signals a better financialposition for funds, consumers stand to lose out by facing higher premiums.
Mr GODDARD says consumers must review their cover every couple of years to ensure theyare getting the best deal.
